Subaru Impreza WRX STI 2008

The new Impreza rides on a wheelbase that 4.0 inches longer than before, but this is in fact a fractionally smaller package, some 1.7 inches shorter although 1.7 inches wider. As a result, the 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STI will weigh 3263 pounds. STI equipped with EJ20 turbocharged 2.0 - liter horizontally opposed four, and is expected to produce 304 horsepower at 6500 rpm. Even more impressive is the torque output from 311 pounds - feet at 4500 rpm, and 90 percent of peak torque is available from 2400 rpm.




A six-speed manual transmission is part of the package, and it carries a triple cone synchros on 1 gear and double cone synchros in 2 and the 3. Subaru is also promising better fuel economy than the previous engine.
